If you’re a fan of good audio quality and you want a superb audio output on your OnePlus 5 smartphone, then this Dolby Atmos Digital Signal Processor application is for you. The app allows you to tweak many audio settings on your smartphone to massively improve the quality of the final output. The Dolby Atmos Digital Signal Processor originally comes with the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the ZTE Axon 7 smartphone, but XDA Forums member guitardedhero has found a way to port the software application for use in OnePlus 5 smartphones.

The OnePlus 5 was the company’s first flagship smartphone in 2017, but it was quickly succeeded by the OnePlus 5T which came with slightly better specs at an equally slightly higher price. Even at that, the OnePlus 5 is still a great smartphone and it remains the favourite of many. OnePlus recently released Android 8.0 Oreo software for the smartphone, and since then many utility software have been released for the OnePlus 5 to help its users take full advantage of the numerous features available in Android Oreo. The Dolby Atmos Digital Signal Processor is the latest of these.

Features of Dolby Atmos Digital Signal Processor

Here are some of the numerous features of the Dolby Atmos Digital Signal Processor application that you will now be able to enjoy on your OnePlus 5:

  • Graphics user interface that’s easy to understand and use.
  • Apply sound effects to media audio output.
  • Output support for various media players.
  • Intelligent Equalizer which constantly analyzes and dynamically adjusts the audio to match a preset frequency response. It delivers rich and detailed audio that packs power into every note and beat.
  • Graphic Equalizer which enables you to customize your sound across the frequency range from bass to treble.
  • Volume Leveler which delivers a consistent volume, regardless of change in content or applications based on the device’s master volume.
  • Bass Enhancer which improves bass response via headphones and device speakers, boosting the ability of both to reproduce low-frequency sounds.
  • Dynamic enhancer which identifies the audio content and adjusts several parameters based on the audio content to give the best output quality.
  • Surround Virtualizer which creates realistic surround sound through any set of headphones or stereo speakers.
  • Dialogue Enhancer which improves the clarity of speech in any type of media.
  • Comes with MiFavor Music Player from ZTE Axon 7 firmware. This might seem like bloatware, but it’s needed for the option to directly launch Dolby Atmos for testing purposes, and to also support the possibility of adding extra unique features in the future.
  • Flexible custom recovery installation archive supporting Magisk and SuperSU installations, including the options to install directly to /system for Magisk users and to install to /su for SuperSU (Experimental Feature) users.

Requirements

  • Your OnePlus 5 must be running on a minimum of Android 8.0 Oreo for this app to work on it. Here’s how to install Android 8.0 Oreo on OnePlus 5.
  • Magisk users have the option of installing directly to /system instead of creating a Magisk module using the included arise_parameters.prop.
  • SuperSU users with the systemless root solution have the option of creating a SU module instead of installing directly to /system.
  • SuperSU users and Magisk users instructing a /system installation via a prepared /sdcard/arise_parameters.prop are encouraged to confirm that a minimum of 100MB of /system space is available before beginning installation in recovery.
  • Magisk users performing the default Magisk module installation and SuperSU users performing the optional systemless installation will require 100MB more than the minimum available /data space acceptable (usually 500MB; 500MB + 100MB = 600MB).
  • Permissive SELinux Mode is currently required and will be set automatically after each device boot. Do not install archive if this is not acceptable.

Downloads

  • Download the software zip file listed above in the Downloads section, and note its location in your phone’s internal storage.
